Cambarco is a village in the municipality of Cabezon de Liebana, (Cantabria, Spain). This village is located at 520 meters above sea level, and 3.8 kilometers of the municipal capital, Cabezon de Liebana in the old Valdeaniezo. Immersed in a landscape of mountains beech, oak, but also oaks and scrub, Cambarco and Church of San Andres de Cambarco, located at the entrance of the village was owned by individuals gradually gave way over to monastery Santa María de Piasca. Ermita Repuesta Cambarco… Getting to the cave Shrine. This is the cave shrine of Cambarco (also in the town of Cabezon de Liebana). Dating from the late eighth and early ninth century. It is a small temple in the form of a Greek cross and dug into the rock. It is a construction drawing excavated strata. The walls are lined with stone. The plant has three apses with arches that separate them, arranged in a clover like shape. It is a Greek cross Byzantine style. It seems of late eighth or early ninth century. Quite a place to see!!!
