Dancing in the Streets of Tijuana, Mexico
My visits were always filled with so much curiosity. The pride and festivities in the streets, dancers and costumes displaying the cultures of Mexico. Color everywhere, fresh fruits, candies, blankets, outfits, bakeries, everything had so much life, and despite the fact that the majority of the residents clearly live below poverty level, the opportunity to show their pride, convince you to purchase, enjoy, and take part in their life style did not stop them.
.......................................
Sadly shortly after my move in 2008, Tijuana's crime increased. Many visitors and tourist whom had crossed the boarder to enjoy the day had gone missing or were found robbed murdered by gangs. Obviously, my visits crossing the boarder, only a 35 mile drive from my home, stopped. My hope for a decrease in crime continues as TJ truly is a place full of life and color and wonderful culture as well as great photographic opportunities.
